The Albany State University Golden Rams Cheerleaders have been entertaining fans for years and are not just limited to providing game day spirit and excitement. Each year, members of the squad are in high demand for local community and school functions. They volunteer numerous hours in community service, including reading and mentoring elementary and high school students, can food drives and visiting elderly patients at nursing homes and children in hospitals.
The Golden Ram cheerleaders have developed into one of the best squads in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II. They compete in cheerleading competitions at the conference level during the year. The squad was named the SIAC's 2004, 2005 and 2006 All-Female Squad Cheerleading Champions.
